When you Have Fallen
Have you been there lying on the ground, not being able of looking anyone in the eye? We all have fallen into temptation, we have given Satan what He wants, we have loved our flesh more than God. It is worse than you think, besides getting out of God’s presence, you begin to think (and Satan wants you to think) that you can´t get close to God again, and being away from Him gets you into more trouble and slowly, we begin to take our sin as something normal or something we can handle. That´s a lie, for a Christian sin should never be normal, and we cannot handle it. We need Jesus desperately.
If you are one that is constantly falling, if you have given up, if you can´t even pray and feel unworthy, I have good news for you; we are indeed unworthy, how could we possibly think we could be before God’s throne, but He is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4,) He gives us more grace (James 4:6,) He is a God who loves us so much that made all the necessary for our restoration. He is a God who loves, forgives and restores, and He is never tired to do it again because He delights in us.
“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
“Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.
Even now return to Him! Don’t let your pride keep you away from Him, keep you Him against you! Turn away from your sin and return to Him and abide in His love. Otherwise, living is not worth it, it is a deceit.
“When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night
your hand was heavy on me,
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer.
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin.”
Don´t ignore the Holy Spirit, confess and return to the blessedness of knowing that your transgressions are forgiven and your sins covered. “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” (Colossians 2:13b-14.) Everything is forgiven, everything is paid, don´t let sin and Satan win the battle, never believe the lie that God will not forgive you. God is actually for you even in the battle again your sin, even when you´re guilty, and wants to have compassion on you, and He abundantly pardons (Isaiah 55:7.)
So you, fallen one, remember and long for the day we will be totally free from sin. But now, believe God, and turn to Jesus who gave His life for you. The Father wants to run to you with open arms; return to Him.
